Guys I can’t wait for this upcoming weekend, St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays! Partially because it’s a celebration about my heritage and partially because it’s cool to be pale this day ha! Green is also such a flattering color, I’ll probably wear my army jacket this year. You knowwww it’s going to be getting a lot of use this spring and summer.
Another trend for this summer is one of my favorites, matching 2 piece sets. I just find them to be so flirty and fun! I love how they can all be dressed up with heels or dressed down with sandals. Plus, 2 piece sets make it so easy to get ready, your whole outfit is already picked out for you. I can’t decide if I like the shorts versions better or the long skirts, which do you guys like better?
Looking to get our own 2 piece set, or just to spruce up your spring wardrobe? Mixology, and online boutique, has a ton of cute spring clothes right now and I’m giving away a $25 gift card to one lucky winner! To enter comment below what your favorite spring trend is! Good luck!
A fun fact about Mixology is that I used to shop at their storefront in Oceanside growing up! I remember one dress in particular that was a one shouldered black satin dress that I wore one year for New Years Eve. My sister actually bought the same dress as well! Now that I no longer live on Long Island though, I’m happy I can still shop their through their online site. Another plus is Mixology’s shipping policy. It’s $8.99 flat rate for all orders under $75 and free shipping for orders above $75 for the contiguous 48 United States. I love free shipping! Also, just an FYI: All international shipping will be shipped through USPS and the prize does not include shipping or any potential customs on international orders.
This post and giveaway are a partnership with Nakturnal, with a prize of a gift certificate. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Sequins & Strawberries.
I’ve wanted a camo jacket for a few months now but I didn’t want to spend a ton on something I might not wear for that long. Well I finally found this one from Forever 21 that’s only $38! I was hesitant on the quality but it’s surprisingly really nice! Camo jackets are great because they’re a fun alternative to a denim jacket. Definitely going to get a lot of use out of it this spring/summer! I figured I couldn’t be the only one looking for a good deal so I rounded up 10 camo jackets under $100!
This past weekend was really nice! Friday I was beyond pooped from the week and fell asleep at 9:00pm and didn’t wake up until 8:00am the next day. It was amazing ha! I woke up feeling so refreshed and ready for the day. This translated to Bill and I cleaning the whole apartment, which will make this week so much more organized! Then, Saturday night I went out to dinner with my sister, her friend, and her friends sister. It was so much fun! Always nice to get to know new people!

And we have a fun giveaway! Good luck!
Floral Maxi Dress: ASOS (On sale for $27!)// Leather Jacket: Trouve// Clutch: Gray Monroe (c/o)// Flats: Hallogen, sold out but these are SO similar and I love this silver pair for only $60// Lipstick: Tarte in ‘Daiquiri’
This past weekend Bill and I went up to Connecticut to spend time with my sister, our brother in law and our niece and nephew. We went to this trampoline place, it was awesome haha! Not only did the kids have a blast but so did Bill and I. Sometimes it’s just very nice to forgo adult activities and see things through children’s eyes. Their excitement is definitely contagious. Thanks for having us, Kate!
I wore this outfit Sunday to an event at Kate Spade that Allie of Pret A Provost hosted. It really was not very practical for the weather considering it was just about 30 degrees. I’m just ready for spring that’s all! I originally bought this floral maxi dress for my bachelorette party this past fall but it is still available in a few sizes on ASOS for only $27! If it hadn’t been cold as anything I would have showed you the cutouts on the front and the back but there was no way my jacket was coming off!
Speaking of which, I could not have gotten more use out of this Trouve leather jacket. I love my black leather jacket but I just find the gray to be so much easier to wear for me. Just personal preference but the gray color is a lot softer on my skin tone and stands out against my black clothing. I love it equally paired with a dress as I do with a white tee and jeans. Back in the long hair days!
I’m a bit behind in my vacation write ups, I just did our most recent trip to Simon Pearce in Quechee, VT here but I’m currently working on our honeymoon to Sandals La Source in Grenada. Sorry it’s taken so long but I hope it will be informative! I’m off to go watch this sushi documentary with Bill called Juro Dreams of Sushi. I’ll let you guys know how it is! I’m sure it will make me very hungry!

I am getting such an itch to start wearing my spring clothes. The very end of February/beginning of March always brings this out in me. I’ve just finally reached my end with the cold in NY and having to constantly bundle up.
So how am I dealing with this? Well I’m still bundling, but just in a different way now. I really wanted to wear this new spring dress, the color really just caught my eye! But realistically if I wore it on its on I would freeze my tush off, even with these warmer temps we’ve been experiencing. So instead of being cold all day I threw on my trusty black turtleneck, a pair of black tights and black knee high boots to tie the whole look together!
Layering a turtleneck under a spring dress is the easiest, and most effective, way to start wearing it now. You don’t necessarily have to wear a solid colored sweater either. I think a fun striped or patterned turtleneck would look adorable with this solid colored dress. The first type that is coming to mind for me right now is a floral patterned one for some reason, even though I don’t have own one ha! I think it’s because this whole look has a somewhat 70’s vibe going on, which we all know is a common theme for me lately.
This spring dress is from the clothing company Project Social T and I’ve become such a big fan! I’ve recently worn their grey sweater and their drinking of you tank. I love how their pieces aren’t busy. I know that sounds weird but sometimes it’s just nice to have amazing pieces that can be mixed and matched with endless options. I feel like they were just made to add to wardrobes as those go to pieces to help create more use out of everything else in your closet. They essentially have made those missing link pieces that you’re always on the search for.
Take this orange dress for example. I can wear it now with my black turtleneck look and then in a month or so with an army print jacket and ankle booties. Then, when summer hits it will be equally cute thrown on over a bathing suit while on vacation as paired with a pair of nude wedges and a top knot (which is not quite possible with my hair yet ha!).
A few other pieces that I love from their collection to be those “missing links” in your wardrobe are this tank top, this bodysuit, this dress, this tshirt, and this wrap top. I also think the prices are all really reasonable for the quality of the clothing. We all know how important this is in an age of $200 t-shirts that you can’t imagine paying for or $10 t-shirts that fall apart in one wash.
Okay I’m off to go watch the Academy Awards. I’ll probably only make it about an hour in, I really just cannot sit and watch these shows for too long. Does anyone else have a really short award show attention span?
Blazer: Zadig and Voltaire, sold out but shop other Zadig and Voltaire here// Shirt: Project Social T (c/o) // Jeans: Madewell// Shoes: Jimmy Choo// Purse: Chanel// Ring: Brooke Michele (c/o) // Lipstick: Tarte in ‘Daiquiri’
I don’t even know where to begin with todays post because I’m so in love with everything. Does that ever happen to you when you’re able to put together an outfit of all of your favorites? For me it’s normally one or two things I’m really into but this look is just giving me the heart eyes emoji!
Let’s start with the blazer. How amazing is this Zadig and Voltaire military blazer?! The detailing and coloring is just amazing! I love how it can easily be paired with a fancier look for work just as easily it was able to be paired with jeans and a tee. Their clothing is a bit of an investment but the quality is unmatched. Plus, most of their pieces aren’t trendy so if you take good care of them they’ll be able to be used year after year.
This ‘Drinking of You‘ tee from Project Social T made me laugh. I can’t decide if it’s a compliment or not to the person you’re “drinking of” but either way I love it! It’s also only $38 so it is the perfect gift for your girlfriends. Pair that with a bottle of wine and you have the perfect birthday/holiday/just because gift! Plus, I think it would look just as cute with these high waisted grey jeans as it would tucked into a black skirt!
To be honest I was never a big ring person until Bill and I got engaged. I just never thought to wear them because I would take them off and forget about them. Now not wearing my engagement ring or wedding band just feels weird! I started to feel like my right hand was a bit naked next to the left though, but I wanted something simple that I could wear everyday. That’s when I found this 18k gold and diamond ring from Brooke Michele Designs! It is so dainty and perfect that when I put my other rings on each day I slide this one onto my right ring finger. I’ve gotten SO many compliments on it too, everyone seems to be on the same page with wanting dainty jewelry!
I’ve been trying to get more into lipsticks lately. They really do just make an outfit. My sister has been trying to get me to wear it more often for years so I’m sure she’s very happy now (you’re welcome Allie!). This particular shade is the perfect color to get you into the spring and summer. It’s called Daiquiri by Tarte and it is exactly how you picture a strawberry daiquiri, a mix of hot pink and red. Subtle enough for everyday but still more than enough fun for a night out.
Anywho, I have some exciting news! Bill and I booked flights to Barcelona for the fall to celebrate our one year anniversary! We are so so so excited! If you have any recommendations for where we should stay, eat, activities, shopping, anything let me know, all recs are appreciated!
Okay off to go watch This Is Us. Anyone else hooked on it?! It’s so freaking good, ah!
