Lemon Purse

Shirt: Splendid (c/o Shopbop), also in more colors here// Jeans: 7FAM ‘Roxanne’// Sandals: Sole Society// Purse:SheIn// Hat: Toucan Hats// Sunglasses: Rayban// Earrings: Park Lane (c/o)

I know I said I was done with summery posts but I remembered I had these photos from our trip to San Antonio from the beginning of September and had to share them! Also, I will get around to posting about the trip and a review on our hotel soon, wedding planning and packing to move has been taking all of my time lately!

Okay so back to this outfit. How flipping cute is this lemon purse?! All summer I ogled the Kate Spade purses that were cute shapes but I just could not justify spending that much on a watermelon shaped purse. Well this purse was only $12, which honestly felt like a steal! I plan on continuing to use it into the fall as a fun and unexpected pop of color and thenbringing it on our honeymoon in November!

Also, speaking of packing for our honeymoon, I’m totally bringing this top with me as well. I’ve lived in this all summer, as you can tell since I posted about it here, here and here. It looks just as cute tucked into high waisted jeans with wedges for a more dressed up look as it does un-tucked with jeans and sandals. I really fell for the off the shoulder trend this year because I just found it to be so flattering and showing a bit of shoulders always felt very coy to me.

I’ve also becoming really into hats in the past few years, has anyone else really jumped onto this trend? I searched high and low for a cute summer hat that wasn’t just beach floppy but one that I could really wear around everyday. 99% of the ones I liked were like a million dollars so when I found this one that wasn’t nearly as expensive I bought it instantly and have worn it so many times since. But I think it is time to finally retire it till next year and pull out my wool floppy hats!

End of Summer Outfit

end of summer outfit-beach-sequins & strawberriesDress: Maggy London (Sold out in these exact colors but comes in a few others here, here, and here all on sale)// Sandals: Sole Society (On sale but almost sold out but similar here and designer version here) //Purse: Kate Spade (Super old, similar here and on sale)// Hat: Toucan Hats (Obsessed with this hat!)

I know everyone is starting to put up fall clothes but these photos were taken so long ago and I just love this dress so much I had to share it. Plus I’m totally going to wear it into fall/winter with black tights and a black blazer when I feel like I need a gigantic pop of color! Let’s just call this my end of summer outfit!

I’m not even kidding when I say I’ve gotten more compliments on this dress than anything else I’ve worn all summer. Everywhere I go I get stopped with people saying how pretty the dress is! The pattern is seriously just so eye catching- bright and cheerful but not in your face. It also is super flattering because it comes in at your waist and then due to the layers under the skirt it flares out then, which helps to create more of a shape on us women! Also, it has pockets. Enough said.

These past few weeks have been crazy for Bill and I. We’ve been traveling every weekend since July and have had something every weekend since June, so needless to say we are tired! But we can’t complain too much because everything we were doing was so exciting and happy! Friends weddings, events for our own wedding, vacations, and visiting friends! But boy am I happy to sleep in this upcoming weekend!

Jord Wooden Watch

wooden watch-nantucket red-sequins & strawberriesShirt: JCrew // Shorts: JCrew Factory (On sale for $25!)// Shoes: Eastland (old but love the Sperry version and they’re on sale for $50 down from $100!) // Sunglasses: Rayban // Watch: Jord  (c/o)

I just want to start off this post by giving a big thanks to Bill for always being such a good sport and supporting the blog in anyway he can! Normally he is behind the lens as the photographer behind Sequins & Strawberries but today is an extra special post starring this handsome man! I promised Bill I wouldn’t embarrass him too much so I’ll jump right into his outfit. But love you Bill!

This outfit is such a classic summer look, very all American and preppy. I’m personally a huge fan of Bill’s shorts, gotta love Nantucket reds! The real star of the show though is Bills wooden watch. How cool is it?! I wish we had the same size wrist so I could borrow it too! They do come in women’s styles as well so I might have to order one for myself!

The best part about a wooden watch, besides how much of a conversation starter it is, is how it matches everything! Unlike a traditional leather band or silver/gold, this watch truly goes with any outfit! Talk about versatile! I’m seriously loving the whole men’s selection of watches, so hard to pick a favorite!

I love unique pieces like this watch, they really help to create an outfit, plus it just looks so nice in person as well. Since Bill received his wooden watch, he has worn it almost everyday! And he already had a watch that he loved that a super special person got for him when he passed the NY Bar Exam, so you know it’s a great watch!

Want your own Jord Wooden watch? Enter the giveaway here to be entered to win a $75 gift card to purchase your own wood watch! Plus even if you don’t win you’ll still automatically get a $20 gift card! Sounds like a win win to me! Good luck!

LBD From Day to Night

LBD-laughing photo-sequins & strawberries
Day outfit: Dress: BLQ Basiq // Hat: Toucan Hats//Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff// Fringe Sandals: Not rated// Lipstick: Chanel  Night Outfit: Dress: BLQ Basiq// Earrings: Lisi Lerch//  Heels: Steve Madden (Comes in a few colors)// Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff// Bracelet: Kate Spade

I love a good LBD as much as the next girl but sometimes I feel like it’s hard to find one I really love to wear for both going out and during the day. I tend to find them either to be too much of a going out dress or beyond casual. Well this dress is that magical middle-ground chameleon I’ve been dreaming of. It manages to look just as great with fringe flat sandals as it does with sky high black suede heels. Gotta love when you find a piece like that!

Plus it is always so, dare I say, practical to have a dress that you can wear during the day and carry a few accessories to change it instantly into night. Throw on those heels, a fun pair of earrings and a little lipstick and you’re ready to go out!

I seriously love the cut of the dress, that neckline is super flattering on everyone and also makes it a little bit different than your usual plunging neckline. The material is also really thick and comfortable, I felt good wearing it, ya know what I mean? Oh and did I mention that it’s under $100? Yup it’s the truth! The magical unicorn of LBD’s is only $85!

Maybe it was because this dress is what I’ve been searching for or maybe I truly love this hat but how cute does it look with the dress? This was the first outfit I tried it on with and I was sold! I’ve now worn the hat about 3 times since and I love it more and more each time! Having a hat that you can wear with any outfit to go out in the sun during the day was key for me and I’ve been on a search all summer for one.

It was always frustrating though because every one that I liked was over $150 and I could not justify spending that on a hat. But then this little baby came into my life and not only does it have a little string inside the hat if you need to adjust the side but it also was $48! Yes it is still a lot for a hat but the quality is really quite nice and I love it!

The Most Perfect Bridal Shower!

The other weekend my family and friends threw me the sweetest bridal shower. It was honestly exactly what I would picture for my shower and I couldn’t be more thankful to have such amazing women in my life. They seriously know how to make a girl feel loved! They all put so much planning, thought, time and effort into making this the perfect day and I am seriously so grateful for all of it. I love all of you so much!

Dress: Joanna August (c/o Shopbop) I’m absolutely obsessed with this dress, I felt like such a princess in it!

Thank you for this incredible photo wall Jamie and the whole Carey family! It truly was a highlight for everyone!

Bridal Shower 12

How beautiful is my friend Jess’ handwriting? She did this all freehand with no stencil or lines or anything! Such a talent! Thanks Jess!

Bridal Shower 24

My amazing and beautiful bridesmaids!!! I couldn’t have dreamed of a better group of ladies!

Bridal Shower 13

The showers theme was a wine tasting, how cute is that?! It really made for a good time! The little name tags were just adorable! Also, very helpful because everyone wrote their names on the back to make it easier to tell the glasses apart. Some of us still managed to end up with more than one glass though!

The food was all catered by Buscos Gourmet Kitchen & Catering and the lactose free bride cake and adorable cupcake wedding dress was by Cupcakes Made by Lauren. Everything was absolutely delicious!

You are four of the most amazing women I’ve ever met and I’m honored to call you my mom, sisters, and best friends!
