This Saturday Bill proposed! I’m smiling at my computer even typing this out! It was absolutely perfect and he is truly the most amazing man ever!
Saturday we planned to go to Bill’s sisters house for his 30th birthday but Bill wanted to go to brunch together first. We planned to go to the restaurant where we had our first date in Boston, which we go to quite often. On our way walking there Bill stopped me at our corner (which is on the corner of Salem and Cross) and said let’s take a photo! We also do this every time we pass the corner so this wasn’t out of the ordinary. But this time it was different.
Bill turned to me and said “I told you I loved you for the first time on this corner almost two years to this day. I’ve told you I love you everyday since and plan to do it for the rest of my life. You make me the happiest man alive”. This is obviously all paraphrased and me asking Bill like 10 times after it happened because I was just so happy and crying.
After he asked, Bill’s friend Ryan came out from behind cars and continued to take photos, he had captured the whole thing! Which obviously made me cry more! Since we were on a crowded corner in Boston there were so many people around and I vaguely remember hearing people cheer and these girls came over and texted Bill photos they took, which was so sweet!
For about an hour we stood on that corner shaking, smiling, crying, laughing and FaceTiming/calling/texting all of our friends and family. It was such an incredible moment. After that we headed over to Tia’s for brunch. I think I told everyone sitting around us that we had just got engaged! From there we went over to Hillstone where one of my best friends from home is the manager and got to see her which was so exciting!
Then, we headed to Bill’s sisters house where I thought we were going for a surprise 30th birthday party for Bill and he thought we were going to a surprise engagement party! We both surprised one another! When we walked in I was shocked to see my family and Bill was shocked to see his friends! It was honestly the best day/night ever!
Bill had said he didn’t want a party, but his sisters, mom and I decided otherwise, obviously. Instead of a party we had decided to go away Sunday-Tuesday to Narragansett, RI so we would be together on his real birthday. Boy were we happy to have a little mini-moon to celebrate our engagement! It was such a surreal time and coming back to work today sure was tough haha!
But I just want to say thank you to our family and friends for all of your planning, celebrating and congratulating, you all added so much happiness to Bill and my engagement!
Also, I would like to give a big thank you to Ryan for taking these amazing photos that we will treasure forever! You should definitely check out his site, especially if you’re in the Massachusetts’s area!
