Tuxedo Jacket: Lilla P.//Shirt: Banana Republic (Old), but love this one and this one//Jeans: Zara, also love these (Under $80)// Heels: Dolce Vita (On Sale!) Recommend going a half size down, they run big// Necklace: Borrowed from my mom so I’m unsure of the brand name but I really like this one// Purse: Chanel, less expensive here
Hey Thursday, so glad to see you so fast this week! Four day work weeks are seriously just so great, they feel like they fly. Before we know it we’ll be cruising into the weekend! Do you guys have fun plans for this weekend? Saturday Bill and I are bringing my parents to an Islanders game at Barclay’s for my dads Christmas gift. I’m really excited because I have yet to go to Barclays, plus hockey games are always fun to watch. I hate to be a cliche but the fights are definitely the most entertaining parts! Then, Sunday my aunt is having a birthday lunch for my grandma who is turning 91! My grandma is seriously a character, every time I’m with her I end up having a good laugh. Spunky till the end, I hope I’m just like her!
So I have been searching high and low for a tuxedo jacket that looks good on my body and doesn’t completely break the bank. I have regular work blazers but I personally always feel like when I wear them that I don’t look feminine or cool, ya know what I mean? I’m not sure if any of you ever feel that way but because of that reason I barely ever wear a blazer out. I normally would opt for a cardigan but honestly some outfits just do not work with a cardigan. So in comes the tuxedo jacket!
I find a tuxedo jacket to be a much more flattering cut to wear with going out dresses and tops than a regular work blazer. They’re a little lighter and normally tend to have a drapey effect in the front instead of just being straight down like a regular blazer. Overall, I think I’m just a bigger fan of them. Maybe I’m being too harsh on regular blazers but my vote is in.
I paired the tuxedo blazer with a simple white top, fun beads, ripped black skinny jeans, gold pumps and a classic purse. Backup to these gold pumps though. They are ridiculously comfortable, no joke I can wear them for hours and not complain (too much). The lining of the shoe is extremely cushioned so they even look comfortable! I also have them in a grey suede so you know I’m a fan. I would recommend sizing a half size down because they run kind of big, but other than that they’re superb. Plus, they look really expensive, which is always a plus!
Also, that red mark isn’t a bad makeup job, sometimes when I stress I get it and for some reason that day I remember being really stressed. So much so that all of the beginning photos I look miserable until I lightened up a bit, so I’m sure this was not an enjoyable day for Bill. Sorry Bill!
How amazing and fast did your weeks go?! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?
